Social
Recognising the social significance of the places we work, building long-term relationships with community and stakeholders.
Community
Yumbah’s production sites may seem remote and isolated, but they operate in communities and are often places of great significance to Traditional Owners and other Australians alike. Yumbah’s people are embedded in the communities where they work. Being local is the foundation of our engagement with communities and stakeholders.
The Yumbah
name
For the traditional custodians of the Yaygirr language, coastal people from northern New South Wales, yumbah means “larger shellfish”. Thanks to their generosity, we call our company Yumbah Aquaculture. From these beginnings, we have evolved an indigenous engagement program that is effective at a corporate level and at each of our sites.
Sustainable use of ocean resources for economic growth, better lives and healthy ocean ecosystems.
Farming for future generations, with respect and care for the natural environments where we operate.
Ensuring the highest standards of responsibility, accountability and transparency throughout our supply chain.
