Yumbah currently have an opportunity for an Aquaculture Attendant based at our Narrawong, Victoria farming operations producing premium Greenlip Abalone.

About the Role

The role of Aquaculture Attendant reports to the Operations Manager and is based at our Narrawong farm site. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar aquaculture environment, possess a proactive attitude and have an eye for detail.  This is a casual, ongoing position with training provided. Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 8.00 am – 4:15 pm and Fridays 8.00 am – 3:30 pm, with the potential to work weekends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day operations of the farm by undertaking stock husbandry tasks such as cleaning, feeding and moving stock, operating equipment, and performing general maintenance.
  • Assist with harvest activities to ensure production targets are met safely and efficiently.
  • Collect and accurately record operational data.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams across the farm to support production schedules and achieve overall farm goals.
  • Maintain high standards of animal welfare, biosecurity, safety, cleanliness and teamwork.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in an outdoor environment.
  • Strong work ethic & reliability.
  • Ability to follow procedures and work safely.
  • Good communication & teamwork skills.
  • Experience in aquaculture, agriculture, farming, or a similar industry (desirable but not essential).
  • Current Drivers Licence.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Previous animal husbandry experience.
  • Forklift Licence.
  • Experience working in aquaculture, agriculture, farming or a similar industry.
  • Knowledge of biosecurity practices.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
