Yumbah Clean Seas, now proudly part of the Yumbah Group, is a global leader in the full cycle breeding, production and sale of Yellowtail Kingfish (YTK, Seriola lalandi).
About the Role
We are seeking motivated Farm Attendants/Deckhands to join our Kingfish Farming Operations in Port Lincoln. Candidates will ideally have experience in a similar fishing or aquaculture environment. Coxswain Certificate, Aquaculture Certificate and Elements of Shipboard Safety will be considered an advantage.
Responsibilities include general maintenance tasks on equipment and infrastructure as well as assisting with fish bathing schedules and harvest vessel duties.
The position requires a good level of physical fitness and the ability to work safely and confidently on the water in changeable weather conditions. You will need to show initiative, have good communication skills and an eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Commitment to working safely in a marine farming environment
- Perform general deckhand and farmhand duties
- Conduct net inspections and repairs
- Adhere strictly to Yumbah Clean Seas policies and procedures
- Demonstrate good communication skills and team work
- Ability to work when required
Qualifications/Experience
To be successful in this role you will bring:
- Previous experience as a Farm Attendant/Deckhand preferred
- Fish husbandry knowledge and Aquaculture experience desirable
- A good level of physical fitness and on-water confidence
- Coxswain Certificate, Elements of Shipboard Safety, Aquaculture Certificate an advantage
- Full working rights in Australia
