About the Role
Based at our oyster farming operations in beautiful St Helens on Tasmania’s East Coast, this permanent position is open to candidates with proven experience operating vessels, or those ready to take the next step in their marine career. The ideal candidate will be confident working in a marine environment, taking pride in safe, reliable boat handling and seeking a long term, active role.
As Skipper, you’ll be part of the day-to-day on water farming operations, working closely with the team to support the safe, efficient movement of stock, equipment and crew between sites. The primary responsibilities include operating vessels safely and reliably and being an effective, hands-on crew member.
St Helens is the largest town on the north-east coast of Tasmania and offers excellent recreational opportunities including fishing, water sports and mountain biking.
Qualifications and Experience
- Coxswain Grade 2 NC or higher.
- A background in marine, aquaculture or fisheries work.
- Experience in a similar aquaculture environment preferred.
- Physically fit and capable of working in a range of marine conditions.
- Full work rights within Australia.
