Boat Skipper
St Helens, Tasmania

Intro

Cameron of Tasmania (part of the Yumbah Aquaculture group) is a proud local aquaculture business operating in Tasmania’s pristine coastal waters. We’re committed to sustainable seafood and our values of integrity, teamwork and daring.

Based in beautiful St Helens on Tasmania’s East Coast, this is a hands-on, full-time role suited to someone with experience operating vessels, or someone ready to take the next step in their marine career.

Job Description

As a Skipper, you’ll be part of the day to day on-water operations working closely with the team to support the safe, efficient movement of stock, equipment and crew between sites. This role is primarily practical and water-based with responsibilities that include operating vessels safely and reliably and being part of the crew.

There is potential for growth, and we will support the right candidate to gain relevant qualifications, such as Coxswain Grade 2 ticket and/ or certifications in aquaculture training. Relocation assistance may also be available for those moving to the area.

Key Responsibilities

This role could suit you if you enjoy working outdoors and, on the water, take pride in safe, reliable boat handling and are looking for a long term, active role.

We welcome applications from people who:

• Hold a Coxswain Grade 2 NC or higher – or have at least 6 months sea time and are keen to upskill.

• Have a background in marine, aquaculture or fisheries work.

• Are physically fit and capable of working in a range of marine conditions

Marine First Aid and other relevant tickets are desirable but not essential. We can help the right person get the training they need.
