Job Description

Yumbah Aquaculture is Australia’s leading shellfish aquaculture company. The business operates nationally in some of the most pristine waters of Australia including Tasmania, Victoria, and South Australia. They farm abalone, oysters, and mussels for both domestic and international consumer markets as well as oyster spat for the Tasmanian and South Australian oyster industry. They are poised for an exciting growth phase on several fronts through a focus on driving organic improvement by margin optimisation through sales execution, farming optimisation, lease and site development to increase capacity, and further acquisitions.  An opportunity now exists for a Commercial Analyst to join their team based in Adelaide, South Australia.

The Role

The Commercial Analyst will be responsible for maintaining reliable, accurate and complete financial information and will provide key leaders with timely and relevant reports, support and guidance. This will include:

  • Providing in-depth revenue, margin and sales performance analytics to assist with business growth
  • Analysing sales trends, customer ranking, pricing model and sales costing
  • Monitoring sales data through identifying trends, anomalies and other insights
  • Managing the sales tracker, monitor daily inventory (SKU, location, cost and ageing), customer frequency reports, customer demand plans and sales
  • Conducting regular competitor analysis
  • Managing forecasting and providing analysis on monthly and annual sales goals
  • Providing explanation, insights and assumptions to support data analysis
  • Enhancing and maintaining a demand planning model
  • Supporting and driving process improvement initiatives to drive effectiveness across the business performance reporting function

 

About You

  • The ability to manage competing priorities across multiple stakeholders
  • Well-developed communication skills and the ability to conduct in depth analysis and provide articulate commentary
  • Strong Excel skills and previous experience working in an analyst/financial position
  • Proven problem solving and analytical skills, particularly in deep diving on processes and issues
  • Degree qualified in Finance, Accounting, Business or a relevant discipline is desirable
  • Previous experience working within a manufacturing environment will be highly regarded
